Looking ahead: Kadir Nelson to give Spencer Shaw Lecture in October

This October, award-winning artist, illustrator and author KADIR NELSON will speak about “The Art of Storytelling.”

It doesn’t get much better than this guy––a 2012 Coretta Scott King Honoree for Heart and Soul: The Story of America
and African Americans,
Caldecott Honors for Henry’s Freedom Box, and

Moses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People
to Freedom
 by Carole Boston Weatherford, for which he also garnered a
Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award and won a NAACP Image Award.
